The classic rock group The Who are featured in this 1979 documentary about the career of the group. It is enhanced by rare footage of the performers, including a television interview with the later-deceased Keith Moon. Highlights include footage from many of the band's early performances. Among the many songs featured are "Magic Bus," "Won't Get Fooled Again," "My Generation," "Young Man's Blues," "Happy Jack," and excerpts from the innovative rock-opera Tommy. ~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide

| if you're a fan of the who or of 60s classic rock in general, "the kids are alright" is essential viewing. there's some great footage of some of the who's best performances, including "a quick one while he's away" as performed on the rolling stones' "rock and roll circus." this is, in my opinion, one of the greatest moments of live rock ever! i do suggest viewing it in context and renting "rock and roll circus" as well. also, there are some great clips of the who being interviewed. the film is primarily live footage, though, which is not a problem for me, because i'm a huge who fan. but for those of you not that into the who or classic rock in general, i would say this film does not have much to offer. but for those who do love the who and classic rock, rent this immediately! |
