When a case strikes too close to home for his own comfort, a Tokyo hostage negotiator enlists the aid of his embittered former partner in this tense urban thriller from Takashi Miike. Shuhe Ishida and Maiko Tono were two of the Japanese Police Headquarters best hostage negotiators until their peers began to suspect an affair and Tono was reassigned to the Filing Room. When Ishida's wife and child become involved in a heated hostage situation, the tormented cop reaches out to his old partner Tono to ensure the safe return of his family. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

| this movie is pure crap... one example: the scene where the dialogue is replaced by musac and time/progress are shown with made-for-tv fade-outs and blending... is there really this much extra film out there? miike strays so far from his gift that there is no way im watching the whole movie... intolerable... |
