Unseen Cinema: Early American Avant-Garde Film 1894-1941 compiles works from a variety of directors. These films, many of which have been unseen since their original exhibitions, were provided by a variety of film archives. The films showcase the many techniques developed in the earliest days of not only avant-garde cinema but in cinema itself. ~ Perry Seibert, All Movie Guide

| Somewhat heavy on the expressionistic side, but very beautiful. A must see for filmmakers of all stripes. Watch for Orson Welles' appearance. |
