| In this disk, the story arc from Disk 1 continues. The Suzaku Seven must find the jewels which contain Tamahome's memory, before the enemy does. It's a good continuation of the Fushigi Yugi series for those of us who can't get enough. I did think that the story and character growth here were not as powerful as in the original series (Suzaku box and Seiryu box). However, this disk does answer whether Tamahome and Miaki can figure out a way to live in the same universe -- so it's a must-see for fans! Also, at the end of each episode, there is a humor section of "outtakes", where the characters start the same scenes but then the lines become humorous and the scene concludes differently. Some of them were pretty funny. |

The first story arc in this disk revolves around Tamahome, who has been living in the real world with Miaki, being taken back to the book world by a mysterious force. The conclusion of this arc came too quickly for me, but it was a good continuation of the saga of Tamahome and Miaki. What's also worth watching are the humorous shorts at the end of each episode, where the characters from the Suzaku Seven and the Seiryu Seven become the actors who played them, and they joke with each other as they take a production company sponsored bus trip to a famous Japanese hot spring. I'm sure there were a lot of inside jokes.
This disk also starts a second story arc, where Tamahome and Miaki are again drawn into the book world. The main story here is that Tamahome, in order to stay in the real world, had to forget about the book world. When he's drawn back, he doesn't remember his previous adventures or his powers. The Suzaku Seven and Miaki must help him find the jewels that contain his memory before a mysterious evil force does. |
