| As a campy vampire detective story, this is pretty entertaining. Similar to Petshop of Horrors, the tale is told straightfaced and the horror is often instigated by human weakness. For example, an actress allows a "nightbreed" demon to enter her soul in exchange for stardom, only to realize that she isn't strongwilled enough to prevent her new desires for flesh to interfere with her rehearsals and performances. Although the violence is not grossly graphic, there are a number of bloody carcasses and of course the required half-dressed women being bitten. If you like film noir and vampires, you'll probably like this series. |
