I wasn't expecting much from this one, but Amon Saga had its small points. The characters were all pretty chiche, the animation unimpressive and story was predictable (putting it lightly). The voice acting was so-so all around.
Still, some of the fight scenes were kinda cool, and the backgrounds were intresting enough to keep it watchable.
I wouldn't put this one on top of my queue(or in the top 50 even), but I don't hate myself for watching it.

| I wanted to see this anime because I really like Yoshitaka Amano's art and this is based on the only manga that he created. He's more famous as the art director or character designer for beautiful works such as Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and the Final Fantasy games. Well, you sort of see his style here (Amon's mentor is like an early version of D) but the animation is mediocre, and the story and characters are pretty one dimensional. If you like Conan the Barbarian, you'll probably appreciate the fighting and other action sequences. |
