This is actually a good giallo because I could not figure who did it or why. The writer weaved so many crazy notions into the film, you end up in a tail spin. At times you feel the main character is crazy herself because she hallucinates and has weird sexual hook ups. There is also a preist involved who used to be a race car driver, then went to a mental institute, then went into the priesthood. Go figure. There is a charming boyfriend, playboy father, etc. The array of weirdo characters is endless. The film also incorporates the notion of shared psychosis and the idea of unconnected people committing suicide at the same time. The first 5 min of the film should have you hooked. Simona is researching the differences between actual suicides and murder suicides. The sound effects are great. A mixture of Argento and Hooper. It consists of strange music, creepy lullabies, moaning, and giggling. Very effective. There is also a scene where Simona visits some type of horror mueseum that has great pics and mannequins of dead people. Also, tons of nudity for those interested. |
