The thing about Hand Maid May is that if youre an anime fan, and youre the type of person who goes to see the latest SFXdisaster/ComedicActionDuo/TeenComingOfAge flicks every summer, even though you KNOW that its going to be just like all the others you saw previous summers... then you can probably enjoy Hand Maid May.

Because EVERYTHING about this anime we've seen before. Several hot girls move in with a nerdy student, they cause him lots of trouble, he falls in love with one of them. Its contrived by nature. But its also VERY ENTERTAINING by nature. I own all 3 volumes, and its one of my most watched series in my anime collection. Because its really good at what it does! Its very funny, the animation is good, the soundtrack is very good, the girls are hot, theres loads of fan service, and everything about it just screams "kawaii". And only running for 10 episodes (4 eps on vol 1), it never loses steam like other anime along these lines tend to do. Its entertaining to the very end.

If you ever saw Saber Marionette J, Ah! My Goddess, Tenchi Muyo, or Chobits, you already know the story. But if you liked those, and you don't mind giving up originality for style, you'll like Hand Maid May
