Most directors parcel out new ideas, one or two to a movie. This director seems to have put in everything he could think of. Fantastic movie. I did, however, have to watch it twice to unravel the plot. But I enjoyed both viewings. Extremely good.
One of the best action movies in past 5 years

This is only the second Honk Kong action flick I've truly seen (the mediocre "Storm Riders" was my first) and I loved it, the mood of the entire movie stayed with me days after I first finished seeing it. Nicholas Tse and We Bai do a great job of portraying the type of "punks" Martin Scorcese made us all too familiar with in American Cinema. Also, the choreography of a certain fighting scene in a huge apartment complex can match up with any movie out there today. Though the plot and fighting scenes can become a little hard to follow, Time and Tide is a no-brainer for any action fan out there (any movie fan in general too). It's a great film for anyone looking to delve into live action Asian Cinema (like myself)
