I can't say enough good things about this DVD. First, and probably best, the print looks beautiful. All those big Australian skies look clear blue and sharp. The action is that much more kinetic and exciting: duels on the highway! Explosions in the desert! Rah!

Second, we Americans can hear the original Australian dialog. For years, the only version we've gotten is a dubbed one, where everyone's voice has been replaced by American actors. No more, baby. We get to hear Mel Gibson as a young man, and, good gravy, you can see why he's still big today. Charisma. He's got it.

The extras are just as great: commentary from the filmmakers, plus two featurettes. Rent it and crank up the sound. Woot.
