| I was initially a bit sceptical about this documentary, especially as it is nearly 7 hours long... but after you have completed the first two episodes you will have a hard time stopping. Not only a true-crime drama, here you are part of the action for both the prosecution and the defense. The access the filmmaker was given is unbelievable - the only place the camera doesn't go is into the jury deliberations. This doc gives a fairly comprehensive view of our criminal justice system (from crime through verdict) and how it works, especially if you happen to be rich. The final episode is a shocker - don't cheat - watch every episode. By the end of the film you feel a part of the accused's family, as well as part of the prosecutorial team. Filled with unexpected surprises, this doc easily fulfills the idea that "you couldn't make up something this good". You will definitely be left with a lot to think about, especially as it pertains to your own biases about the legal system, the wealthy, and the idea of guilt. |
