| ...but sadly dated in pace and appearance. A morality tale centering on a less-than-moral character played naturally by the inimitable Robert Forster. If you're interested in Wexler, the art of media manipulation,or you would like to see a great set of rhetoric from the 'inner city' versus the flighty press, then rent this one. |

| The Best Film Ever about the Battle of Chicago, 1968 (i.e. the riots started by the police during the massive protests against The War during the Democratic National Convention - I will never forget my mother's shock at watch Walter Cronkite ranting, pissed as hell after his comrade, Dan Rather, was beat up by Godfather (and Mayor) Richard Daley's thugs). A great statement on the power of the media and it's abuse. A love story. A wonderful music score by the ever-so-overlooked and dearly missed Mike Bloomfield. Highly Recommended! |
