| Not up there with my favorite John Dahl flicks, "Red Rock West" or "The Last Seduction," but fun in it's own Grade-B stupid sort of way. Helped immeasurably by the presence of Steve Zahn ("Out of Sight," "Suburbia"), whose goofy charm keeps things amusing even when the story begins to verge on the ludicrous. Some good scenes and and attention to geographic detail, and some moments that are genuinely suspenseful. And some moments that are just plain cliched. Works best if you don't take it too seriously but just go along for the... ride. (But gee, was there really a crying need for "audio commentary" including the actors?) |
