Extraterrestrial fast-food franchisers come to earth to pick up food supplies-in this case, human flesh. After wiping out a few small towns, the aliens must contend with a team of government assassins, headed by Pete O'Herne. As the plot rolls on, O'Herne's crew is decimated in as gory a manner as possible, and innocent bystander Craig Smith ends up being marinated (and a darned good job it is). Turns out that the space folks are running on a timetable; they've got to return to their home planet with their human-hash cargo before a rival franchise puts them out of business. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

| am i wrong, or did the original cover contain the same wouldbe alien shooting the bird? i think it did, and can only recommend this flick because there's a scene where a guy's brains come out, but then he puts them back in and flaps a part of his skull back and maybe even straps it together. been a long time since i saw it, and certainly won't watch it again, but still recommend it as a "stoner classic" if nothing else. hell, i don't even smoke pot any more, so it's gotta be worth somethin' if i'm cornering it as a drug cult classic, no? would somebody please tell me about that, er those, fingers in the interim? overall: worthy of an old "grade D" scholarship by the gates foundation... |

| Good film for the laughs and gore. Nothing like BRAINDEAD (DEAD-ALIVE) and a far cy from his legendary Tolkien films. Highly recommend this movie for purist and people who get into low budget horror films. |

Aliens have landed on earth and are seeking out humans to supply the flesh for an intergalactic fast-food chain. It takes four men with some hand held weaponry to battle against the aliens and save the human race.
Bad Taste is bad. But it's supposed to be bad. Simply consisting of director Peter Jackson and his friends running around trying to have as much blood and gore as financially possible.
This movie was clearly a predecessor to Jackson's superior Dead Alive , the influence is really obvious. Jackson always has an interesting take with his movies, the cameras move unlike most movies I see. Plus, I like his philosophy on just having fun with his movies and not caring about what anyone says. He just wants to blow stuff up and have blood spew out of every hole, is that too much to ask?
However, Bad Taste does reach a dragging point and definitely lacks the consistant entertainment of Dead Alive, but I thought it was worth seeing for the sake of seeing it, if that makes any sense. |
