| Beware of BE COOL--every bit as bad as you've heard. The best thing about it is The Rock's performance (this guy might have a lot more in him than we know). Travolta sleepwalks through (well, whatcha gonna do, with no script?); Uma Thurman, whom I usually enjoy, appears stunned and stunted--perhaps by embarrassment; and even the reliable Vince Vaughn is out of whack. Whatever were they--producers, actors, writers, director--thinking? Times ten. Yes, yes: the film has its moments. But two of these in two hours is NOT something to brag about. |
