Sequels usually dont usually hold up as well as the original, but thats not the case here. The Comet Empire saga is based on the second Yamato TV series, and an expanded version of Movie 2 (Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato). Make sure to watch season 1 (Quest for Iscandar) before renting Comet Empire.
This series meets high expections, boasting a truely fearsome foe, with the odds stacked against the Yamato. The final 2 dvds have possibly the BEST face off ever seen in anime, it has to be seen to be believed.
