In the tropical village where Hare lives, a boy like him has a pretty easy life. It may be true that food must be hunted for and the sun may sometimes be hot, but things are always peaceful and fetching a snack is as easy as picking a banana off a tree. That all changes when Hare's mother brings a little girl named Guu home with her after an excursion. Guu seems to have some sort of paranormal powers: she swallows nearly everything whole, from coconuts to people, and yet nobody ever seems to be injured by living in her stomach! Things in Hare's village just got a whole lot more interesting, as he begins spending less time lounging, and more time trying to keep Guu out of trouble. ~ Cammila Albertson, All Movie Guide
