Complete waste of time! by groovejude July 15, 2013 - 11:09 AM PDT
Nothing really scary, very low budget, bad acting, no real "damsel in distress" scenarios, and the women are
fully clothed all the time, in jeans, plaid shirts, coats, etc. The dialogue at the end regarding the aliens leaves us to wonder whether or not we were supposed to feel sorry for them after they ripped a few guys apart. Nonsensical, meaningless, and just plain a bad movie. Not even any cult silliness, such as in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, for example. The Beast is much better, and The unrated "Beast from Space," which USED to be available, is great. Don't waste your time on this schlock.

"No fun at all ..." by GGoodsell December 25, 2005 - 8:43 AM PST

Amateur filmmaker Don Dohler cranked out a bunch of creature features from his hometown of Baltimore, Maryland back in the Seventies with the majority of them winding up on video or DVD. A former e-mail correspondent of mine recalls Dohler as "quite a character ... no fun at all." It would stand to reason that as most of his films are no fun at all either! Many of Dohler's films star John Waters regular George Stowver, who played Mr. Gravel in DESPERATE LIVING and the priest who administered last rites to Divine in FEMALE TROUBLE. Dohler's stock-in-trade was folksy, homemade special effects by backyard Harryhausens. THE ALIEN FACTOR is dreck, but dreck made by happy enthusiastic hands who do what they do out of a love for the cinema! Viewers seeking out a similar homemade vibe are encouraged to check out the films of Nathan Schiff, whose features such as THEY DON'T CUT THE GRASS ANYMORE and WEASELS RIPPED MY FLESH are now out on deluxe DVDs.
