If you want to relive the glory days of the late 70s when you first saw Hardware Wars, maybe at a local film festival, maybe on Bob Wilkins, this is a pleasant way to do so. Definitely rent it and enjoy it for what it is.
After the 11 minute short, there really isn't much else on this DVD. There's a short 3-4 minute interview with co-producer Michael Weise that was interesting. After those 15 minutes, you're pretty much done reliving the first time you saw Hardware Wars. All that's left is 45 minutes of random filler material, such as the "foreign" version: the same 11 minute short, with some really bad fake foreign dubbing and fake foreign title cards. Or the director's commentary: again the same 11 minute short, with Ernie Fosselius hamming it up on the audio track. You probably won't be laughing out loud, but you'll have a few minutes of fun.

| If there were a zero rating, this movie would get it. Nothing, and I mean nothing, about this was funny, clever, or remotely charming. Such a bummer, was all set to watch a hearty spoof of one of my favs, the classic star wars. |
