Back the Attack (1939)

    see all cast/crew...
Studio: Mackinac Media
Genre: Documentary, Political & Social Issues
Running Time: 160 min.

Synopsis
Back the Attack is a sobering and entertaining historical record chronicling the songs, sensitivities, sentimentalities, and tragedies of WWII; and the optimistic spirit of nations and individuals united to battle the enemies of humanity and freedom. Presented is a diverse, annotated, selection of original, unedited and uncensored, American and British, Official War Office and Ministry Of Information, films that informed the citizens, revealed the true enemies, and rallied support for the war effort on the battlefield and on the home front. Among the rarities on view, is a series of hard-hitting, heart-wrenching, Victory War Bond promotions; an unsettling entry glorifying the A-Bomb solution and an amusing musical essay mocking Hitler and his goose-stepping Gestapo.
