Tom and Barbara Good (Richard Briers and Felicity Kendal) are a downwardly mobile suburban couple who desire to go back to the land and set up farming in their backyard, to the occasional consternation of their stuffy neighbors Jerry and Margot Ledbetter (Paul Eddington and Penelope Keith), in this collection of three episodes of the British situation comedy Good Neighbors. In "Backs to the Wall," Tom manages to throw out his back only three days before the deadline for harvesting, leaving Barbara to do all the work. Margot puts up a wind-break which puts some of Tom's fruit trees in the shade, leading to a battle of words, in "The Wind-Break War." And "Silly, but It's Fun" finds Margot deciding to celebrate Christmas with a simple, low-key get-together -- which soon leaves her with no one to share it with except the Goods. Good Neighbors was originally shown in the United Kingdom as The Good Life; the title was changed for North American broadcast to avoid confusion with a U.S. sitcom with the same title. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
