Oxide Pang's fast-paced, MTV-inspired One Take Only stars Pawalit Mongkolpisit as Mak, a Bangkok street urchin who spends his days hanging out, getting high, and occasionally running drugs or guns for the local gangsters. He meets and quickly falls in love with a teenage prostitute who lives in his housing project, and they embark on a dingy love affair. Dreaming of a better life, they get deeper and deeper over their heads in the drug trade, which leads, inevitably, to tragedy. ~ Tom Vick, All Movie Guide
Thai director Oxide Pang's (The Eye) One Take Only caused some controversy upon release in its native country, when it was delayed by censors who took exception to the film's racy content. Whereas many of Pang's earlier films were more of the horror variety, One Take Only is less a genre piece than a casual, even improvised observation of contemporary Thai street youth.
