This bargain basement abasement of a terrific Japanese original will probably turn off most audiences, who may give this American remake credit for a somewhat interesting idea while never realizing the thrills, shocks, creepiness and all-out strangeness that the original PULSE provided. This is what they call a shame--all the more so because Wes Craven is credited with the co-writing.
