Off to War: From Rural Arkansas to Iraq (Disc 1 of 4) (2004)
Unprecedented in the history of war documentation, this is Brent and Craig Renoud's heartbreaking, true-to-life account of the Arkansas National Guard's experiences in the Iraq War. The cameras follow the citizen soldiers from deployment to homecoming, capturing their arrival in April during one of the bloodiest months of conflict. In the combat that followed, the Brigade lost more soldiers that any other, and the funerals are documented along with the homecomings, new babies, and other experiences of the soldiers' families. This exhaustive record is a neutral, unbiased account of those who have been most affected by the war.
