Amazingly brutal

This is one of the most brutal and amazing martial arts films I've have ever seen. Sure the dubbed voice of Tony Jaa's friend (who plays a cop in this film) is horrible. Sure, he can't speak English and the movie is poorly acted.

That said, Tony Jaa was AMAZING in this film. Just the shear acrobatics he can do is amazing. There is one scene that is completely uncut of Tony kicking EVERYONE's butts as he runs up this building. My jaw was dropped after a bit because I realized it was all one take.

I read a story about how Tony Jaa was in Bankok after his highly acclaimed "Ong Bak". People kept trying to start fights with him (though he constantly struggles to do no harm). In real life, he was jumped once by several hoodlums trying to prove themselves. He ended up killing 3 of them with his bare hands in self defense. Clearly, being essentially under siege in real life (and not just the movie sets) has reflected itself in the brutality of this, his most recent, film.

Half of this movie is boring compared to Ong-Bak. There's no doubt this is the best martial art performer of this time but i think the movie's plot is far from entertaining.

...as an action film, that is. As prerequisites for an action flick, this movie has it all. 1) Hero that can kick some serious *ss, check. 2) Minimal dialogue, check. 3) Simple storyline, check. What more can you ask for? Exotic animals as delicacies, a tranny boss, a hooker with a heart of gold, extreme sports Fu, Wu Shu Fu, Capoeira Fu, Elephant Fu, Wrestling Fu, and Whip Fu. Sure, throw them in as well, no problem. So, what are you waiting for, queue it up.
