Synopsis
Visions of the dead haunt a young woman and the psychologist who falls for her in this romantic supernatural thriller from director Lo Chi-Leung. Though psychologist Jim believes that Yan's otherworldly visions have been brought upon by traumatic events in her past, he attempts to cure her and is soon deep in love with his troubled patient. As Jim's love grows ever stronger, Yan's visions fade, and it isn't long before the visions transfer into the horrified eyes of the caring doctor. Now haunted by the very same specters that plagued Yan, his memories of a girlfriend's suicide 20 years prior begin to surface. If the power of love was enough to drive away Yan's ghosts, will her love be enough to help Jim confront his dark past and vanquish the restless spirits? ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

I can guess how this movie was made: after the woman was cured of the haunting, the film maker discovered that the movie was too short. So now the guy is haunted, exhibiting behavior that has no hint from or relationship to the first half of the movie. The last scene is poignant only because of what happened to Leslie Cheung in real life. Otherwise it is eminently forgettable.

I had great expectations from this movie but it really disappointed me and although it is only 90 minutes long, it looked like an eternity to me. At first I thought, OK may be I missed something here, so I watched it a second time the day after my first viewing, but I have to admit that my opinion got worse. The characters are flat, it is not scary and the ending does not make sense. I can understand why some people may enjoy it if this is their first Asian horror experience, but may be they wouldn't have left positve reviews if they had first seen THE HYPNOTIST, or may be RINGU, or even THE EYE.

This is a good story/movie.. Though its a "ghost" theme, the story is about not able to let the past go - one could not move forward because one could not leave the past behind.. it eats you up till you burst.. then our survival instinct kicks in.. do whatever necessary (forget) to survive..

Its a shame that the star actor Leslie Cheung wasnt able to learn from his own movie and committed suicide last year.. I love his movies/music including this one.. You're going to be missed..
