1. The futuristic food court, with all the signs in French; neon, shiny red plastic wall panels, chrome, hamburger wrappers, escalators with black scuff marks on the treads. This is exactly why I love Canadian movies of the 70's and 80's. 2. Van crashing into a record store. Moments later we see a poster for the Village People. 3. Cameron on fire, flames in his hands, like Kali. |
| Suprisingly awful |

I say this as a fan of Cronenberg. I have gone to see every one of his films on release for more than ten years. I was amazed how badly this one has aged. There is practically no plot, the dialog is bad, and acting is terrible.
The film peaks around the fifteen minute mark when the guy's head explodes. Except for that one (dare I say "iconic") scene, this is a dull film with nothing to recommend it. |
