Creepy wild ride by hneline1 October 28, 2002 - 10:57 PM PST

Hellsing continues to be a creepy wild ride with strong characters and dark visuals and a cool techno funk beat. Arucard finally shows his true nature when Sir Integra's mansion is invaded by ghouls and vampires. Victoria is slowly breaking down and succumbing to her vampire nature, tempted by pints of human blood and the opportunity to berserk. I like this series because it does a good job of exploring character, but it's still a vampire tale with lots of death and guns. Also on this DVD is an interesting interview segment with a number of key production figures (producer, director, music composer, art designer, etc), mainly shot during a press conference announcing the Hellsing anime. Although I wish more questions were asked, it's still fascinating to hear what their vision of the anime was before it was finished.
