Anna Torrent is a 9-year-old Spanish girl going on 35 in Cria! The story, both written and directed in quasi-autobiographical fashion by Carlos Saura, is told from her viewpoint. Torrent must contend with a passel of alleged grown-ups, whose grasp of the realities of life aren't nearly as solid as Torrent's. Foremost among these arrested adolescents is Geraldine Chaplin,. Originally titled Cria cuervos, this film won a special jury prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
