The dark edge that seems to smirk at itself by hneline1 November 18, 2002 - 6:14 PM PST

Hellsing is a hard rockin' ride into the bloody world of vampires mixed with the modern world of guns and mercernaries. The animation is beautiful and the music is throbbing. I love the mood that this series creates -- the dark edge that seems to smirk at itself. However, I thought that these three episodes were less satisfying than previous ones because the plot scatters a little -- we don't see much resolution for the cliffhanger from the previous disk and then we follow another storyline about a new monster that Arucard must fight. That's fine because we learn more about the world of the real vampires, rather than the synthetic ones being created, but it makes me anxious to see more. And then there's a HUGE cliffhanger at the end of this disk -- waaah! When is the next volume being released?!?
