Spider-Man 3 (Special Edition) back to product details

bite me
written by Popnfresh July 7, 2008 - 10:29 AM PDT
I had low low expectations. So low that even having every Amazing Spider-man issue with the black suit couldn't get me up for it. Color me entertained. There are moments of incredulity, like when a research center fully staffed with hotties is running experiments at 4 in the morning. But the movie is equal parts groan and giggle, with some genuinely funny lines. Bruce Campbell's scene is awesome, naturally.

When it came out, I heard lots about how "evil" spidey is reduced to a musical number. It was slightly undercooked, but there was more to it than an emo haircut and a strut. He does some emotional damage to people he cares about, which was enough for me. One last impression: Venom is awesome, way better physically than the overly muscular comic incarnation.
