Don't believe those reviewers who claim that you can't tell the difference between a pre- and a post-body-snatched Nicole Kidman. She's perfectly acceptable as a shrink who starts worrying, first, about her patients, friends and family, and then begins to wonder about the whole human race. It's Daniel Craig who is utterly wasted here (though he looks damn fine!).

Since the movie, originally directed by Olivier Hirschbiegel of "Downfall," is rumored to have been tampered with by the Wachowskis and who knows who else, I would not hazard a guess as to the parties responsible for its pedestrian, hasn't-quite-jelled quality. But come on, people: the "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" story is very nearly foolproof. So this, the least of the four features based on it, still manages some fun and friskiness, as silly as it does finally become. And any movie that offers up a sure-fire plan for peace in Iraq deserves at least one-and-a-half cheers.
