Horror of Malformed Men and Blind Woman's Curse director Teruo Ishii shifts his focus from tormented mutants to sword-swinging samurais with this outrageous, blood-spattered adaptation of an original manga by Lone Wolf and Cub creator Kazuo Koike. Tetsuro Tanba (Zero Woman: Red Handcuffs) stars as a hardened mercenary swordsman who becomes hopelessly caught between a gang of privileged samurais charged with recruiting prostitutes to work in old Edo's pleasure quarter, the barbaric Shogunate, and the rival gangs locked into a violent struggle for power. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Sorry, but what you find erotic has no bearing on whether this qualifies as an erotic film. Degradation, humiliation, and rape have been staples of erotica - not just porn - for as long as erotica has existed. People watch erotic films -- and read erotica, for that matter -- for sexual experiences, not necessarily for arousal. You might want to try it some time.
By the way, "misogyny" is a mere polemical construct and means absolutely nothing, so I would ditch it if I were you. |

| I was hoping for a Samurai film with some eroticism thrown in or an erotic film with some martial arts thrown in, but torture and degradation of females (clothed or unclothed) is just not erotic. Sorry, but physical torture and abuse of women, no matter how stylized, is not what I consider erotic...and just plain makes me feel uncomfortable. |
