Silent films leave more room for the imagination.
The fact that my kids are too young to read the captions meant I got to read them to them. Which in return created great discussions with my kids!

| In addition to this incredible movie, the DVD also includes a fascinating documentary on Lotte Reiniger's life and work -- worth the rental for that alone. |

| From the beginning, Reiniger's film is absolutely magical and luscious; a complete dreamscape. Beautiful use of color film tinting, intricate fabric and paper cuts, and nearly flawless animation. Very highly recommended. |
