PBS invites viewers to take a more intimate look at actual Amish communities and lifestyles than most have ever witnessed. It is rather remarkable that the peaceful and relatively simple lives of the Amish population--which remains strong and is always growing--exists smack-dab in the middle of a country that sees violence day in and day out. Without interrupting the balance, the makers of this program were able to successfully document the lives of the Amish from within.
