Best to send the small fry to bed before dropping this DVD in for a spin, as the warped humor of the Happy Tree Friends makes the antics of Itchy & Scratchy look like child's play by comparison.

| This isn't for everyone! Adorable cartoon animals, reminiscent of Tiny Toons and Golden Book are more or less torn to shreds agian and agian and agian. As visceral as this sounds, the people that make this Internet cartoon really understand that this concept is nothing new so they take some more creative ways about the ultimate goal of each episode. South Park, MadTV and other Flash cartoons are a lot more obvious and juvenile about their violence, but Happy Tree Friends has a much more adult and beautifully bitter method to their work. If you like the films of Don Hertzfeldt or the comics of Jhonen Vasquez you also like Happy Tree Friends. |
