My absolute favorite anime! Chii is the cutest character ever. The animation is awesome, the english dubs are excellent, and the story is extremely entertaining. A must watch.

Good, could have been great

[Note: This is a review of the entire series, and contains thematic spoilers.]

This very enjoyable series by Clamp raises some excellent questions to think about, but ultimately drops the ball and packages everything into a neat, tidy ending.

Chobits centers around the relationship between the main character, Hideki, and his persocom, Chi(i). The central question is this: is it ok to have a relationship with something that, strictly speaking, isn't alive? By the mid-point of the series it seems we are well on our way to getting an answer, but by the time everything is said and done the answer turns out to be "if it isn't hurting anyone and it floats your boat, why not?"

Despite its philosophical shortcomings this series is a lot of fun. It has a nice mix of action, romance, mystery, and fan service. Take it for a spin, and then consider where Clamp could have gone with it.

I'm not sure if this happens in this DVD, but later on they decide that it's OK to like persicoms because they are unique, weather it's DNA or data. Why is this a must-see for crazy girls? As far as I'm concerned, the same thing goes for cartoon characters! They're all different, right? So if your feeling guilty, see this!

Seriously, this is a very nice series. It's cute, romantic, funny, exciting, and just a little henti. So give it a wirl.
