this movie was good, in comparison to the nge movie which summed the series up.. this one beats it like it owed him money.

new scenes, a new retelling of the story, although it changes some key points to make the plot run smoother. Definately worth a rental if you loved the series. The entire movie has new audio, even if the animation clip is the same.

people are being too harsh.. if youre expecting a brand new movie like the cowboy bebop movie or somethin this is not for you.. but if you just want to watch more rahxephon then here it is.

A good way to tie the series together by Yowanda January 20, 2005 - 12:56 PM PST

Rahxephon The Movie is a basic retelling of the 26 episode series. A lot of the scenes are exactly the same or similar to the series, but there are also several new scenes. The movie is obviously only the barebones storyline of the series, since it is only two hours long. I think the movie would not make much sense if you haven't already watched the series. However, I think the movie is a nice way to tie together a sometimes confusing series. It also seemed to answer many of the questions that were left after the series ended. I felt there were many plot points made in the movie that either weren't in the series or were not very clear. So, if you were left a bit confused after the series, I highly recommend you watch the movie.

Why did they make this? No matter if you thought RahXephon was an Eva clone or not, it was at least a good clone. For some reason they decided to "retell" the story in movie form. Don't expect much new content though. Most of the scenes were copied from the series, only in some cases the dialog was different to cover the plot changes. In some cases the changes were minor and in some cases characters were changed dramatically. For instance Quon barely has a cameo in this and she is nothing like the Quon from the series.

I'm struggling to find a reason why anyone should watch this. Maybe if you've always wanted to watch the series but thought it might be too complicated. (there is no suspense or plot twists in this version). Maybe if you were wondering if it was the plot or the story telling that made the series good. I thought this might have been directed to the people who hadn't seen the series, but there seems to be too many plot holes for it to make any sense. At the same time I think most people that saw the series will be really put off by the changes in the plot.
