Fiza is the story of a young girl (Karisma Kapoor) in search of her brother, who disappeared during the communal riots of 1992-1993 in Mumbai. The film is centered around the relationship between a widowed mother, living in the hope that her son will one day return, and her daughther who, fed up with living with uncertainity, decides to take action.

The story of the mother and sister is very well done and the riots are convincingly dangerous and horrific. There are a couple good dance numbers at the beginning. The parts concerning terrorists don't make a whole lot of sense, especially the ending, which was just wrong.
