Experience a whole new take on Koji Suzuki's terrifying tale as South Korean filmmaker Kim Dong-bin offers his own unique take on the international best-seller that inspired both Ringu and The Ring. Determined to solve the mystery of the deadly videotape and stop the spread of the curse before it spirals out of control, Sun-joo must enlist the help of a disgraced neurologist if she has any hope of surviving to see the end of the week. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

If you liked Ringu and/or The Ring, here's a slightly different take on the same material. I'd rank it a little bit above The Ring, but a little bit below Ringu (which is itself a remake, I've yet to see the 1995 tv version that it's based on, or read the novel). If you've seen any of the other versions of this story, you'll be able to predict most of what happens, but, without giving anything away, it does deviate from the original story quite a bit in places, and wondering what's going to be the same and what's going to be different provides a certain amount of suspense.

In short, If you want another Ring movie, here it is. By the way, why is rated NC-17? The disc has a Category III symbol on it (the Hong Kong equivalent of NC-17), but I don't really understand why, I would've rated it closer to PG-13 myself.

Not all remakes are bad

These are a few remakes that I think are almost as good as, equal to, or better than their predecessors. (Leans rather heavily toward sci-fi and horror. There are probably a few that I forgot or haven't seen yet)
