| "Die Hard" meets "Harry Potter." This thoroughly silly romp has a lot of amusing moments and great attention to detail, but it's not quite worth the effort to decipher the muddy dialogue and figure out the clockwork plot. On the plus side, Holmes (Downey Jr.) and Watson (Law) are first-rate. Even if the script's sweaty, dirty, raunchy version of Holmes is a little preposterous, it's still fun to watch. I'm sorry they didn't get a better story to bounce their interesting characters off of. |
