The commentary on this movie is better than the movie itself, featuring two grizzled writers who did the last two of the twenty-something re-writes of this film.

If you're expecting an MTV-styled rethinking of a 70's t.v. show concept with little intelligence, that's exactly what you get. S.W.A.T. is an action charged, adrenaline fulled flick for the Gen X crowd who will recall several characters here have the same names as the characters from the t.v. shows but that's about it. On one hand, it's a buddies bonding macho flick (the bad ass Rodriguez is easilly as macho as her male counterparts!) and part typical good guy, bad guy action flick but the two plot lines never converge convincingly. Jackson is as good as always, Martinez is charismatic and the rest are dressing for a passable action flick.
