Synopsis
The Creeper is back, and he's brought his appetite with him in director Victor Salva's sequel to his popular 2001 sleeper. Stranded on the dreaded East 9 Highway while returning home from winning the championship game, a group of basketball players, cheerleaders, and coaches quickly realize that there's more to fear than a broken down bus when The Creeper descends mercilessly upon them. As his 23-day feeding frenzy draws to a close, The Creeper needs the sort of nourishment only a vital group of young athletes can provide, and to survive the night, the terrified teens will have to fight to their dying breaths. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

JC2 was a movie that was actually liked by everyone {aside from me] whom I know that saw it, even those who didnt particularly care for horror movies. It was suspenseful and interesting in how they stretched out the teenagers on the bus sequence without overdoing it and how they kept the mystery continuing by not explaining too much about the creature. It was just there and the cahracters had to deal with it and its inherencies. The fact that many of the teenagers were never heard of or elaborated on after the exodus into the corn field was at first unsatisfying, but anybody who paid attention would know what happened to them. Also, the movie was rare because it was among a pool of few original horror movies where the Black characters were NOT the first to get killed and were not all killed off. Its in my section of favorites.

The Creeper returns in JC2, the sequel that purely cashes in on the original adding nothing to the creature's mythology and, other than the title creature, barely links to the first movie at all. Okay, Justin Long has a totally unnecessary appearance (reportly, Gina Philips who played the surviving character from JC1 passed on returning to the movie) and the film has basically been disolved into a monster stalker thriller lacking all of the creepy set elements of the Creeper that made the original so chilling. Clearly, director Salva is doing this for a quick buck before moving on to his next project.
