Although this movie is too drawn out to sustain any kind of real suspense or sense of horror, it is genuinely scary at times and could have been a great thriller if it was tightened up a bit. The lighting and makeup are creepy, the plot is generally good and Rekha gives the best performance of the film, but it just seemed to fall short of being truly scary somehow. Rent it, maybe you'll be scared.

Horror movie, without dancing?

A Bollywood production with Bollywood actors, but no dancing? Weird. Anyway, Bollywood horror movies tend to be ridiculous, but this one had some scares. The directing was great, the acting was great, the background music was great. The cinematography relied too much on weird camera angles constantly changing, but was consistent and overall added to the movie. The screenplay SUCKED! Too much exposition, then suddenly everything happens haphazardly. There were a lot of interesting characters & situations, but the movie didn't know what to do with them. Characters who should have made an appearance in Act I don't show their face until ACT III. There were little tangents that didn't fit into the movie as a whole, and were just ideas ripped off from other horror movies.

The weak screenplay was very frustrating, because otherwise this was a top-grade movie.
