I'd originally heard little of this movie until it came to DVD and upon reading a synopsis, I thought it worth taking a look at. "2ndhand Lions" is extremely watchable due mainly to the talent of it's almost-legendary stars Michael Caine and Robert Duvall and it's highly effective story-within-a-story storyline. The fantasy tale of their action charged youth is almost as captivating as the story about the not-even senior citizens hooking up with the youngster. Undoubtedly, the film's original ending (including here on the DVD) served the movie much better than the reported $600,000 re-shoot but such it goes when it comes to big studio interference.

Weak at best...

Three great talents with no place to call home. Im not sure if Michael Caine was supposed to have a Texan accent in this tale as much as Im not sure what this tale was trying to tell. For a better coming of age escapade, rent "This Boys Life". The last 10 mins knocked it from a 7 to a 6 out of 10. Silly nonsense.
