Might want to skip this one... by jeffs December 29, 2003 - 7:41 PM PST

I really like the Slayers series, and I thought the Motion Picture and the Book of Spells did a fairly good job of keeping the same feel. If you can believe its even possible, the movies tend to be even more silly than the series. That is up until now. I thought this movie lacked a lot of the Slayers charm. It wasn't as funny, yet it didn't really have a good plot either.

I'm honestly still disappointed with the choice to change the english voice cast for between the series and the movies/OVAs. After every movie I watch, I appreciate the work that Lisa Ortiz did even more. If you want to watch both the movies and the series, I would recommend watching the movies first. Once you hear Lisa Ortiz as Lina its tough to listen to anyone else. Also, the movies/OVAs are completely unrelated to the series, so it really doesn't matter which order you watch them in. If you haven't seen any of the Slayers, I would recommend starting with the Motion Picture to get a taste of things. The series is better, but its also fairly long (78 episodes). If your a real fan of the series your probably going to watch this anyway, but if your not you might want to skip it.

A variety of anime I've seen that I recommend others see. They are listed alphabetically by series and then in the order recommended for watching them.
