A young Alfred Hitchcock made this propaganda film as an homage to the courageous members of the French Resistance as he tells the tale of a British RAF pilot who escapes from France with the assistance of the French Underground and a treacherous Nazi informer. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

| Don't even think of comparing these to North By Northwest

| I found both of these to be quite good, actually. The message is a little heavy-handed in this day and age, but the stories are well written and probably felt uplifting as they were intended to be. While Bon Voyage has a nice twist, I actually prefered Aventure Malgache - the dark shadows and smoke, the perfectly composed mise en scene, the superb acting all combine to create a brooding film noir. |
