it's funny how the director get's lost in 98 percent of the movies made. although newman and redford are the classic features in this movie. mr hill's direction and risk taking are what makes this movie roll. such as the still frame sequence.. newman riding the bicycle.. and of course the ending sequence. simply brilliant. newman is perfect as the almost humorous outlaw butch cassidy.. with all the great idea's.. and almost no chance of completing one of them.. and redford is perfect as the sundance kid. quiet. stoic. and completely behind butch.. on every crazy idea his comes up with. a classic that every film director should be forced to watch (that's if they for some reason don't want to watch it). to see what can be made of a simple bank robber's film.
