| the other review had it right, as comedy ok, complete disappointment, as film noir or thriller. Expected something much more from this movie; long time Linda Fiorentino fan, since 'After Hours' ( with the exception of the opening scenes in the call center where she seems to love the pacing and taunting, she seems so bored, not radiating the fun she should be having manipulating all the poor saps ), Bill Pullman segues from this poor guy here, to be further abused, but with revenge and a life again, last seen triumphantly driving away, in 'Lost Highway', and Peter Berg, who as Johnathan handled that joyful maniac, Horace Pinker, pretty easily, but here cannot seem to recover from his truncated marriage prior to meeting the Wendy version of the fatale....my advice; unless you just want to see these actors in a movie, see something else. What Jim Thompson could have made with this story line...and what James Foley and/or Stephen Frears could'a done directing it...a real pity that it is not a better movie |

When viewed as a comedy, this is a funny movie. If you expect to get a serious drama, you will be disappointed.
The characters are so over the top and the plot so ridiculous, I was in stitches through the entire movie. |
