| Pacino. DeNiro. What happened? No real tension. No real scenes between the two -- too long. |

with all the hype around pacino and de niro. you forget the fact that kilmer, sizemore, fichtner, trejo, voight, portman, and judd.. with each of them playing vital part's to plot lines. and oh man.. the plot.. while this picture plays like out like a bank robbery film.. it is much more.. it's and intense character study of cop who doesn't know how to be anything else. a crew leader, who is good at nothing else. a husband who is a gambler. his wife who is cheating on him. with more character flaws then ever. this moving plays out the selfish role of not giving anyone.. a arc that most movies flesh out. bad guy turns good. good cop finds his soul. none of that..
with a bunch of players finding their roads at the end of the line. they are all under.. you guessed it.. heat. |
